Workshop “Artificial Intelligence in Teaching”

Workshop “Artificial Intelligence in Teaching” led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Markus Schatten was held on December 12th and 19th, 2022 in the facilities of Partner 1 – Faculty of Organization and Informatics.

Workshop participants learned about what artificial intelligence is and what types of artificial intelligence exist. They discussed whether we need artificial intelligence in schools, whether it should be introduced into the school curriculum, and what will happen to teachers in the future. In the practical part of the lesson, they tried out the cognitive agent ChatGPT and then evaluated its result. At the end of the lecture, it was concluded that better systems for self-learning are needed so that teachers can focus on individual work!

The workshop was attended by 18 teachers from the II. Primary School in Varaždin, who upon completion of the lecture, received Certificates of Completed Education. These certificates will serve them in further professional development.

This two-day workshop is the third in a series of 6 specialized workshops that are being held at the II. Primary School in Varaždin and the Faculty of Organization and Informatics as part of the Full STEAM Ahead project. The workshops aim to enable teaching staff to incorporate various STEAM skills, use of ICT and modern teaching methods into their teaching. The workshops are prepared and conducted by experts in specific areas from partner institutions, and will be attended by most of the teaching staff of the II. Primary School in Varaždin.
